Terms of sale
These terms apply when you buy a website template from Dowel Pages, with or without the optional setup guide, independent digital products (“we”, “us”). By completing a purchase you agree to them.
What you are buying
Every product is a downloadable digital file. Nothing physical is shipped.
- Website templates: a zip with a one-page website template (HTML, CSS and JavaScript), a README and a license file. The live demos on this site show exactly what is in each package, with fictional sample content.
- Setup guide (optional): Launch Your Template Site, a PDF guide to editing, publishing and connecting a domain to your template. You can add it at checkout for US$4.99; it is delivered on the same download page as your template.
The templates and the setup guide are in English.
Price and payment
Each template costs US$17 and the optional setup guide US$4.99. Prices are in US dollars and charged once; there is no subscription. Payments are handled by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number. Your bank may add a foreign-transaction or currency-conversion fee. The charge appears on your statement as DOWEL PAGES.
Delivery
Delivery is immediate: after a successful payment you are taken to a page with your download links. Bookmark it. Stripe emails a receipt to the address you entered at checkout. If you lose the page or a download fails, write to dowelpages@mail.grokbot.com with your checkout email and we’ll send the files again.
Template license
A template purchase gives you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the template to build websites for yourself or your clients, including commercial websites, on an unlimited number of end sites. You may modify the code and design. You may not resell, redistribute, share or give away the template itself, modified or not, or include it in another product sold or distributed as a template, theme or starter kit. The full license is in LICENSE.txt inside each package.
Setup guide license
The setup guide comes with a personal, non-transferable license: read it, print it and use its steps on your own projects and your clients’ sites. You may not resell, share, upload, redistribute or republish the PDF, or substantial parts of it, in any form.
Your content
Sample business names, phone numbers, addresses, listings, prices and texts in the templates are fictional. You are responsible for the content you publish and for following the rules that apply to your business, such as advertising rules for attorneys, fair housing notices for real estate or health-information rules for dental practices.
Third-party parts
The templates load typefaces from Google Fonts, licensed under the SIL Open Font License, and include no photographs; you are responsible for the rights to any images you add. The setup guide mentions third-party services, such as hosting and form providers. We are not affiliated with them, and their screens, prices and free plans may change.
Refunds
Because the files are digital and delivered instantly, sales are final except when a file is defective. See the refund policy.
No warranty
Products are provided “as is”. We test the templates in current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, but we can’t promise they will fit every purpose or every host setup. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version in force on the day of your purchase applies to that purchase. If a translation differs from the English version, the English version applies.
